This weekend, I compared a Club House Salad Herb spice blend to a Bragg’s organic herb seasoning & I shocked many of you when the SECOND ingredient on the list was… SUGAR! And this is not uncommon; most store-bought spice blends contain table salt, hydrogenated oils, added refined sugars, preservatives & sulphites.
One of you then put me to the test: create a KITK approved DIY spice blend to use on veggies, protein, in marinades, sauces & dressings: a spice that doesn’t require much else: just some lemon, apple cider &/or avocado or olive oil & BAM!
Made with tons of dried herbs, savoury spices & sweetened with just nutrient-rich Ceylon cinnamon, this spice will take all your recipes from 0 to 100!
- 2.5 tbsp. dried oregano
- 1.5 tbsp. dried parsley
- 1.5 tbsp. dried minced onion
- 1.5 tbsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tbsp. smoked paprika
- 1/2 tbsp. Ceylon cinnamon
- 1/4-1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
- Celtic sea salt to taste
- Add all the spices to a bowl, mix until fully combined & store in a spice jar! Enjoy!
To make delicious zucchini rounds, thinly slice zucchini & season with the homemade DIY seasoning & raw organic apple cider vinegar. Roast them for 25 minutes, broil on high for 2-3 minutes & BAM!
