No judgment if yours is Tylenol Cold & Flu & sometimes, we gotta do what we gotta do! But, here are the more natural & holistic ways I use to beat cold symptoms (congestion, heavy head/eyes, feeling choked up, cough/sore throat & just inflammation in general!)
1. TURMERIC: very strong anti-inflammatory, antioxidant & antiviral properties (bonus: also relieves pain, cramps, bloating & great for skin!)
2. BEE PROPOLIS (capsules & throat spray): shortens the duration of colds, relieves sore throat & boosts body’s antioxidant defence system
3. OIL OF OREGANO: relieves sore throat/bronchitis, cold & flu symptoms & has anti-inflammatory & anti-microbial properties
4 TURMERIC & LEMON TEA: I love Numi Organics Turmeric tea (also has lemon + lime) & I add 6 drops of oregano oil & 1/2 lemon (you can also add ginger/cinnamon)
5. ASTRAGALUS: used in Chinese medicine to act as an adaptogen for the immune system & reduce cold/respiratory infection symptoms
6. BLACK CUMIN SEED (I already take this daily): boosts the body’s natural “killer” cells (white blood cells) & fights infection in the respiratory tract
7. MANUKA HONEY: add it to tea or warm water or take 1/2-1 tsp.; it’s antiviral & antibacterial properties boosts immunity, fights infection, reduce inflammation & soothes sore/dry throat.
