I tried a new superfruit today & it was so yum so I figured I’d share ‘cause DUH!
Haskap berries are grown in Quebec & are an amazing source of antioxidants (3x+ than blueberries) & vitamin A & C. They’re known as the “longevity fruit” & are lower in sugar than many other fruit (just 8g in 2/3 cup).
Rich in fibre, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc & manganese, they’re also anti-inflammatory, boost immunity & the growth of good bacteria & high in potassium, necessary to build protein & muscle, metabolize carbs & balance fluid & electrolyte levels. They taste like a mix between raspberries & blackberries!
I also added a dose of astaxanthin, a natural carotenoid found in micro-algae & one of the world’s most potent antioxidant & anti-inflammatory foods. (It has 65x more power than vitamin C!!).
It improves heart & cognitive health & circulation, neutralizes free radicals, boosts bone, joint health & immunity, fights aging, make skin glow, improves muscle performance.
