Here’s a super delish, frothy & simple latte recipe you can make if & when you’re trying to cut back on caffeine, but still want a sustained source of energy (with tons of other health perks!).
Chaga is an adaptogen & medicinal mushroom with tons of healing properties. Its benefits range from boosting energy & physical endurance, immunity, helping the body cope with & adapt to stressful situations, skin-healing properties & it’s also very alkaline, which means it’s conducive to a good pH balance in the body.
Cacao also contains tons of antioxidants, magnesium, iron, zinc & is great for heart health, blood circulation & fighting inflammation.
All you need are a few basic ingredients & your sweetener of choice. I like to use vanilla because it has WAY LESS sugar than coconut sugar or maple syrup & it adds a really velvety smooth touch.
If you don’t have chaga, you can use any other adaptogen powder, such as ashwagandha, reishi or maca. Like with all adaptogens, I definitely recommend starting slow & working your way up. I used 1/2 tbsp. of chaga powder for this recipe, but if you’re new to it, I would recommend starting out with a teaspoon to see how your body reacts!
- 1.5 cups boiling water
- 1/2 tbsp. chaga mushroom powder
- 2 tsp. raw organic cacao powder
- 1/4 cup homemade hemp milk or other milk of choice
- A splash or 2 pure organic vanilla extract
- Ceylon cinnamon + more to top!
- Add the ingredients to your blender & blend until combined & frothy.
- Pour into a mug & top with cinnamon.
