WHERE MY LASH LADIES AT?
You all know how obsessed I am with full, thick & long spider lashes. And if you don’t know, NOW YOU KNOW! My mascara application takes me a full 10 minutes & I can’t go a day without it! I’m the perfect candidate for fake eyelashes but I have a profound fear of them damaging my real lashes, so I’ve never actually taken the risk & tried them & I honestly don’t think I ever will! I’ve heard one story too many about how they damage real lashes, make them shed etc. So… LOOKS LIKE I’LL BE STICKING TO MY MASCARA COLLECTION & TO THIS DIY LASH/BROW SERUM!
Lash serums are a thing. I mean, I get it.. who doesn’t want their lashes to fill out & lengthen, right? They exist but they are DAMN expensive & with the amount of skincare products I buy & use, I figured it would probably be best to refrain from one that I’d fall in love with & then need to consistently repurchase. Instead, I got creative & put together a little creation of my own! And that’s how this baby came to life!
I wanted to wait at least a month to a month & a half before sharing this serum because I wanted to be able to testify to the fact that it actually worked! Like any skincare product, especially the natural kind, you have to be patient & know that results won’t happen overnight! And while they didn’t happen overnight, THEY SURE AS F HAPPENED.
I’ve been using it every night as the last step in my skincare routine for the past month & a half & I’ve seen a huge difference in the thickness & volume of my lashes. I’m quite thankful (knock on wood) that my lashes are naturally pretty long, but a little more length ain’t never hurt nobody.
I haven’t tried it on my brows, but I presume it would work the same way! I’m Moroccan so I naturally have thicker hair & my brows grow faster than I’d like them to sometimes, so it’s not a concern for me, but it would definitely be worth a try! If you do happen to use it to target brow thickness, let me know how it works for you in the comments below!
This serum is non-toxic & made with all-natural organic oils targeted at improving eyelash &/or brow thickness, fullness & growth! It’ll also help hydrate the skin above the lash line & prevent it from becoming dry, flaky or peeling. It’s super simple to make & ready in like a minute, legit.
What’s in it?
CASTOR OIL: Rich in vitamin E, protein & omega-6 fatty acids, which nourish the hair follicles & promote hair growth. Due to its lubricating properties, it strengthens the hair & prevents thinning.
COCONUT OIL: The fatty acids in coconut oil stimulate hair growth, prevent hair loss & create a protective lipid barrier, preventing germs & impurities from damaging the hair.
VITAMIN E: The ultimate beauty oil, promotes hair growth by stimulating circulation, which enables blood capillaries supplying nutrient-rich blood to nourish hair follicles, strengthens hair, prevents loss & contains antioxidants, which fight free radical damage.
LAVENDER & CEDARWOOD: Lavender & cedarwood improve circulation & stimulate hair follicles, thereby supporting growth. Calming, soothing & great for dry or sensitive skin.
I store it in a dropper bottle & I use disposable lash brushes to apply it! You can also apply it with a Q-tip & store it in an old small lip balm tub or tube!
Here’s how to make it!
- 2 tsp. castor oil
- 1/2 tsp. coconut oil (melted)
- 1/2 tsp vitamin E oil
- 10 drops lavender oil
- 10 drops cedar wood oil
- Add all the ingredients to a dropper bottle. Roll the bottle gently between your hands to mix. Seal & voilà!
- Use consistently once a day for best results: Dip a disposable lash brush or Q-tip into the bottle & gently massage/apply the serum into your lash line.
