Vegan Vanilla Date Protein Smoothie a.k.a. So Good, I Would Totally DATE This Smoothie…

I feel like my smoothie game hasn’t been as strong lately, mostly because I’ve been so obsessed with all my meal-prepped deliciousness & bowls for lunch that I forget about my unconditional love for smoothies! But, yesterday afternoon, I was craving a smoothie, so I whipped up this quick & easy one with a few ingredients, but tons of deliciousness!

Ok first off, before we get into this smoothie, let’s talk about my fave dates: PRANA Medjool dates are the MOST tender, soft, sweet & caramelized dates on this planet! I’m not kidding, I’ve tried quite a few different brands, but something ALWAYS has me coming back to this one! Try them & you won’t look back!

Now, back to this smoothie! It’s super simple to make, contains minimal ingredients & it tastes absolutely wonderful! It’s silky, creamy, rich & so damn good, it’s like a vanilla milkshake!

I topped it with one of my fave banana hemp granola by Living Intentions! It’s sprouted, full of live cultures (aka probiotics) & is made with JUST REAL FOOD. It’s full of superfoods: sunflowers sprouts, seeds, spirulina, chlorella, alfalfa, hemp, dandelion & flax, so it provides tons of energy, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals & detoxifying perks!

Dates are a great alternative to refined sugars & are a lot lower on the glycemic index than a lot of natural sweeteners. They’re full of fibre, vitamins & minerals, such as calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium, zinc & vitamin A. They promote bone, nervous system, heart & digestive system health. So yes, I threw a date in there because I love the freaking taste, but also because I freaking love the health benefits, DUH! Have you met me?

BTW, if you’re not down with using protein, you can also use collagen or any other powder supplement of your choice! Just make sure to put in the equivalent of about a scoop of protein powder to ensure the thick & creamy texture!

Now, let’s get to the recipe!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup organic unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1-2 organic Medjool dates (pitted)
  • 1 scoop Iron Vegan vanilla vegan sprouted protein
  • 1 tsp. pure organic vanilla extract
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 4-5 chunks steamed & frozen cauliflower
  • 4-5 ice cubes
  • TOPPINGS: Living Intentions Banana Hemp sprouted superfood granola & Ceylon cinnamon

HOW?

  • Add all the ingredients to your blender & blend until fully combined & creamy!
  • Pour into a tall glass & top with the granola & cinnamon.
