I get asked all the time if I wear makeup to workout & the answer is YES! Your girl still wants to feel like herself when she works out & IMO, there’s nothing wrong with a little bit of a healthy glow when lifting. Ya feel me?
But I do prefer to keep it minimal & I stick to a few go-to products that I know won’t clog my pores or leave my skin looking or feeling oily!
I’m also super strict about washing my face as soon as I get home to rehydrate & to remove any of the sweat, makeup, oil buildup or dirt post-workout. All the products I talk about here can be purchased at Sephora!
So I bet you’re wondering, what do I wear to the gym & how do I keep in minimal, all while looking somewhat put together?
TINTED MOISTURIZER: Origins GinZing Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 40.
Personally, I don’t enjoy wearing a face full of foundation to the gym simply because it feels too heavy for a workout. A lot of foundations are oil-free, so if you are one for wearing foundation to exercise, make sure you invest in one that’s oil-free to avoid clogging your pores & leading to breakouts.
I like to use tinted moisturizer because it gives just the right amount of coverage to leave your house without looking bare-faced but without looking overdone. It gives a nice dewy glow, doesn’t feel as heavy as foundation & if you’re lucky, you’ll find one that contains SPF so you can kill two birds with one stone!
This one is my holy grail because it’s makeup & skincare all in one. It oxidizes to adapt to your skin colour, provides medium coverage, gives a nice dewy glow & is super nourishing because it contains caffeine & ginseng. Safe to say, this one will remain on my RE-PURCHASE list!
What’s also great about it is that you can apply concealer over it & it doesn’t look caked on. Anything you apply over it applies super smoothly & flawlessly.
CONCEALER: Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Biscuit & Ginger
I don’t know what it is but I can never find my perfect matchy-matchy colour when it comes to concealer, so generally, I will buy two & blend them. I like to blend colours Biscuit & Ginger with my Beauty Blender. This concealer is great because it offers high coverage, but doesn’t look blotchy, heavy or caked on. It also applies well over tinted moisturizer.
Why do I wear concealer to the gym? I mean… short answer: I need my concealer. Longer & most honest answer: I don’t want to risk scaring anyone away with my dark circles, ya know?
BRONZER: Guerlain Four Seasons Bronzer in Colour 4 (Medium)
This is one of my go-to bronzers & I’ve been using it on & off for years! My mom was actually notorious for wearing this! What’s great about it is that it really is an amazing colour combination for all seasons – it goes from lightest shade to darkest & what’s fun is that you can also mix them up to create your perfect colour!
BLUSH: MAC Mineralize Blush in Gentle
This blush is the perfect pop of pink, but it’s also not too out there that you look like Barbie! It provides a nice healthy glow, is not sparkly & has just the right little bit of shimmer.
MASCARA: Buxom Cosmetics Mascara & Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Mascara
True story: This bid can’t leave her house without mascara. This combo is great because it creates long, voluminous & perfectly separated lashes & no clumping or smudging!
P.S. My mascara application takes like 10 minutes… I am OBSESSED. Is it not the most satisfying feeling to have perfectly separated long lashes? Like c’mon. SPIDER LASHES FTW!
HIGHLIGHT: Make Up Forever Pro Light Fusion Highlight Powder
On days when I’m feeling like I need more if a glow or my skin is looking dull. I like to apply this under my eyes, on my brow bone & down my T-zone!
So there you have it loves! This is my go-to everyday gym/errand makeup routine! Honestly, you most probably won’t find me wearing more than this unless I’m going out to an event or a dinner! Safe to say, I’m not exactly a makeup gal!
