Happy weekend, babes!!!
It’s the weekend & that means it’s also time to fit in some self-care & to find a moment to disconnect from your week, schedule, work, school or any stress you’re dealing with. It doesn’t have to be a full day of self-care (but it can be if you want!).
All you need is just 30 minutes, for yourself. 30 minutes where the focus is YOU. Appreciate all that your being has done for you this week & show your body & mind some LOVE.
During the week, it’s so easy to forget to just stop & DO YOU. There are so many other things to do & it seems like there aren’t enough hours in the day to get it all done. That’s why it’s important to cherish the weekend & take the opportunity to do something that makes you happy, excited, feel good, proud or motivated.
The definition of self-care is different for everyone & it even varies for us all from week to week, depending on how we feel & what we think will make us feel even better.
For me, Saturday’s self-care consisted of waking up at the crack of dawn & getting in my morning spin classes, even in a snowstorm.
Recovery gave me a second chance at life & taught me not to take it for granted. My mentality is all about making the most out of everyday & appreciating every moment for what it is, no matter how much I’m hurting, how hard it is & YES, even no matter how much snow is on the ground.
TBH, the trek to get there this morning was rough but I went cause knew how much energy it would give me & how much better I’d feel after the class. Exercise provides me with a form of mental therapy & release that I don’t get anywhere else. It’s something I really value because of how grounded it keeps me.
If doing a face mask, taking a bath, sitting by the fireplace & watching Netflix or lying down & doing absolutely nothing are what will make you feel good today, DO THAT.
Your definition of self-care doesn’t have to fit anybody else’s.
It’s called SELF-care for a reason.
