Don’t let someone else’s version of “healthy” skew yours.
Don’t sacrifice your self-worth, value or mental stability to have what someone else deems as the “perfect” body.
Be proud of who YOU ARE & not ashamed of how SOMEONE ELSE might see you.
We are not born & put on this earth to hate our bodies. We are taught to hate them.
Body confidence & self-love do not flow from trying to achieve the “ideal” or “perfect” body.
They come from embracing the one you’ve already got & from rebelling against the falsities we are taught.
To me, that’s what health is all about.
It’s about accepting & loving yourself & your body, for all that it is.
It’s about enjoying the simple things.
It’s about your real internal beauty.
All your beautiful qualities.
It’s about what you’re thinking & saying.
It’s about taking care of yourself.
It’s about how you treat others.
It’s about setting your own standards & not succumbing to the rules or standards of another or that society attempts to convey.
It’s about learning not to value your body over your being.
For years, I valued the control over what went (or rather, what didn’t) into my body & that stopped me from being.
Fast forward to today & I can tell you, FROM FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE, that it wasn’t worth it, not even for a second.
Your face will wrinkle. Your body will change. But the beauty in your heart & soul will not.
Choose to love yourself.
Choose to fuel your body with what it needs to function optimally & keep you feeling your best.
Choose your mental well-being.
Always remember that your body hears everything your mind says.
