Let’s talk REALITY.
The pic on the right is BEFORE my workout.
The one on the left is DURING.
Same girl. But I look slightly different, right?
Let’s dig deeper.
Let’s use these photos to discuss how things are NOT always what they SEEM.
Being & seeming are two very different things, yet we’ve been taught to assimilate them & to believe that everything that we SEE is what IS.
We live in a world where we constantly find ourselves comparing to others & where we are taught to believe that we are never good enough.
BUT WHAT IF YOU DEDICATED TODAY (& everyday) to LOVING YOURSELF A LITTLE MORE?
To accepting your luck & fortune & embracing your reality for ALL THAT IT IS?
What if you stopped comparing yourself to what you’ve been taught to believe you should be, look like & how you should behave?
Often times, all those things are representations of realities you’ve been misled to believe are attainable & realistic when really, they don’t even exist.
Take a second & think about what you want YOUR REALITY to be & STRIVE FOR IT. FIGHT FOR IT. ATTAIN IT.
Yes, even if it’s not what society is telling you to do or what your illness is feeding you.
BE STRONGER & BIGGER than whatever it is that’s holding you back & making you worship a reality that isn’t even real, simply because your mind has been taught to think it is.
They say FACE REALITY, but facing reality is about a lot more than merely looking it in the eye.
It’s about accepting it’s there.
Acknowledging that in this moment, it may not be what you want but ONLY YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE THAT.
I fought like hell to change a “reality” that dominated my life for 2 years.
That made me believe that the amount of calories in a spoonful of peanut butter, the weight of my cherry tomatoes & the extra 0.1lb on the scale were the most important things in life.
I thought all of that was REAL because my illness fed me those thoughts & I latched onto them.
When I finally realized that ONLY I HAD THE POWER TO CHANGE (even if anorexia SEEMED to be my reality), I used that power to turn what SEEMED into what IS.
What IS is a beautiful life where calories do not matter, food isn’t weighed & scales don’t exist.
YOUR REALITY IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT.
Make it count.
