When A Craving Hits, Listen To Your Body. It’s The Only Way It Can Communicate With You!

Tonight, I was CRAVING FETA CHEESE…

& So, feta my body got!

Here’s my take on a traditional Greek salad feat. Spinach & Mary’s Gone Crackers Black Pepper crackers!

Unfortunately, this post is not about the salad & how to put it together. BECAUSE LET’S BE HONEST, you all know how to put together a simple Greek salad.

THIS POST IS ALL ABOUT CRAVINGS.

We all get ’em.

So LISTEN UP. 

This is what I mean when I preach NOURISH, CARE FOR & LOVE YOUR BODY!

I’ve learned that cravings & hunger are NOT the same.

Hunger is controlled by our tummies.

Cravings are controlled by the brain.

Hunger is about survival.

Cravings are YOUR BODY’S WAY OF COMMUNICATING WITH YOU!

Our bodies are magnificent & beautiful creatures.

A craving is your body’s way of telling you that it’s deficient in certain nutrients & that it needs you to fuel it up so it can function optimally & keep YOU happy & healthy!

Listening to your body & satisfying those cravings (as opposed to depriving yourself of them) is KEY in that it is your way of giving your body what it REALLY needs.

Of course, this isn’t me telling you to go to extremes & to devour every cookie, chip & chocolate in sight (Athough that would be fun if we knew it wouldn’t cause any harm, right?).

Obviously, cravings (especially for foods that aren’t THAT healthy) should be satisfied in moderation.

It truly is all about BALANCE.

So next time a craving hits, put it into perspective.

Try to understand why you’re having it (Perhaps you’ve been too restrictive & deprived your body of something it LOVES).

How you can satisfy it in moderation

& If there are healthier alternatives to incorporate into your daily routine to nourish your body & avoid future situations where you want to eat everything in sight.

All this to say:

LIVE A LITTLE.

ENJOY LIFE.

ENJOY FOOD.

& MOST IMPORTANTLY, TAKE CARE OF THE ONE THING KEEPING YOU ALIVE EVERY SECOND.

YES, even if it means having a juicy burger, cookie dough ice cream, ketchup chips, cheesecake or something that isn’t necessarily part of your daily routine!

You won’t regret it. Trust me.
