My Speciality Clean-Eating Balsamic Honey & Dijon Vinaigrette a.k.a. The-Reason-I-Developed-a-Salad-Obsession-&-I-Guarantee-You-Will-Too
Hi lovies! Rise & shine! <3 6:32am, WADDUP?
This morning, I wake you up to the thought (and soon, the taste – IF YOU GET OUT OF BED TO WHIP HER UP) of my beautiful balsamic vinaigrette that, like me, YOU SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE READY TO GO IN YOUR FRIDGE. Just whipped her (OOPS, I MEAN WHISKED) her up (Well.. at 6:05am, to be precise). Trust me, if she’s sitting in your fridge (& looking quite pretty, if I may say so myself), you will use her ON AN ALMOST DAILY BASIS on salads, as a spread on sandwiches or as a drizzle/dip for veggies. Yep, she’s that versatile… you will probably not make ANY OTHER kind of salad dressing once you taste her. Ladies & gents, I present you with My Speciality Clean-Eating Balsamic Honey & Dijon Vinaigrette a.k.a. The-Reason-I-Developed-a-Salad-Obsession-&-I-Guarantee-You-Will-Too.
Not to mention, you know exactly what is going into making her, a.k.a. she is SUPER CLEAN & SUPER HEALTHY, unlike all those store-bought options loaded with cheap oil, high fructose corn syrup & TONS of sodium & she has the absolute-most-perfect-texture (a.k.a. SHE IS NOT WATERY. SHE IS NICE, THICK, RICH, CREAMY & SIMPLY PERFECT). OH & she is super sweet (BUT, ORGANICALLY & NATURALLY, A.K.A. NO REFINED SUGARS! #WINNING).
I’ve basically become KNOWN FOR/FAMOUS/THE REFERENCE when it comes to this dressing so I GUARANTEE (Yep, again!) that you cannot go wrong if you pour (I REALLY MEAN SMOTHER) this baby over…well…ANYTHING & EVERYTHING. Guys, the ingredients are NOTHING “WOAH”, trust me. BUT, BUT, BUT, after several (LIKE A BILLION) attempts at perfecting this baby, I’ve come to learn that salad dressings are all about INGREDIENT PROPORTIONS. NOW THAT I’VE PRETTY MUCH MASTERED THAT PART (*PATS SHOULDER*), I figured it was time I stopped being selfish & shared this wonderfulness with you & here I am, at 6:36am TYPING AWAY (TOTAL SIDE NOTE: Notice how I started the post only four minutes ago & I’ve already typed two pretty solid paragraphs. Yeah, for those of you who didn’t have the opportunity to sit next to me in law school & get annoyed at how LOUD & FIERCE I type, well… now you know!).
Another amazing thing about this dressing is that SHE LITERALLY TAKES NO TIME TO WHIP UP. No need for any electronic appliances. No blender. No food processor. Just some measuring cups & spoons, a metal mixing bowl, a whisk & a mason jar. OH & THE INGREDIENTS, DUH! Oh right, I should probs get around to telling you what the ingredients are… KAY FINE
P.S. The quantities listed will give you about 1 cup of dressing, so if you anticipate that you will FALL. IN. LOVE. with this dressing & I know you will, DOUBLE, TRIPLE, QUADRUPLE YOUR QUANTITIES
- 3 tbsp. of organic raw honey;
- 2 tbsp. of Dijon mustard;
- 1/2 tsp. of salt;
- 1/2 tsp. of ground pepper;
- 1/4 cup of organic Balsamic vinegar;
- 3/4 cup of organic extra-virgin olive oil;
- OPTIONAL: If you like you stuff spicy, add in 1/2 tsp. of chili sauce or Sriracha!
YEP, THAT’S ALL. I told you that the ingredients were nothing “WOAH” & I meant it. But once again, my loves, it’s all about proportions, SO PLEASE, do yourselves a favour & take the time to measure your ingredients. You (& your tummies) will be sure to thank moi later!
HOW DO YOU COMBINE THESE CLEAN INGREDIENTS TO MAKE THE VINAIGRETTE YOU’LL BE PUTTING ON EVERYTHING? Guys, it’s simple. THE SAME WAY YOU WOULD ANY OTHER VINAIGRETTE. Combine all the ingredients in a metal mixing bowl & WHISK, WHISK, WHISK AWAY UNTIL YOU OBTAIN THE PERFECT SALAD DRESSING CONSISTENCY. Store this baby in a mason jar & REFRIGERATE… but if it’s like, almost lunchtime when you whip her up, chances are, she will probably never end up in the fridge, BECAUSE YOU WILL EAT HER ALL UP!!!! A.K.A. DOUBLE, TRIPLE, QUADRUPLE THEM INGREDIENTS, KAY? Bisous mes amours, xx!
